what happens to the pill plastic once u swollow ?

So im taking a lot of vitamins and stuff and I'm wondering what happens to the plastic capsules do they really dissolve or to they become trapped in the body or what. Any one know what actually happens?

    It's not really plastic and it's made to dissolve in an acidic pH like your stomach.

    As CharityD said, it's not plastic - it's a substance that's made to dissolve in your stomach. I believe it's made of gelatin, but I'm not absolutely positive on that. I'm sure you could find out if you did some googling.

    The "plastic" is usually gelatin, it dissolves pretty quickly in the acid from your stomach.

    Yep, gelatin. The same stuff Jell-o is made out of.
