Hi, I use a heart monitor on my elliptical machine. It shows my calories burned as higher that myfitnesspal does for the same amount of time. Should I be making an adjustment to my exercise entry for this?

I use the numbers provided by my heart rate monitor. MFP uses a general formula based on height, weight, and sex while the HRM more accurately reflects how hard you worked0

I'd use the lower number if you're eating back your exercise calories. HRM accuracy isn't all that it's cracked up to be.0

Thanks. I agree. I have read that you want to subtract the amount of calories you would have burned doing nothing from the calories burned indicated on the heart monitor.0
