Anything is ok anytime as long as you stay in your calorie budget. There are no bad foods.

What Mokey41 just said. I've found that getting out of the "good" food/ "bad" food mindset to be helpful in weight loss.

I don't think there is any such thing as "bad" foods either. I used to, but I realized that I want to enjoy life. :)

Personally, I could not start the day off with a lot of sugar. I usually stick with oats because they don't raise my blood sugar levels. But, everyone is different. If you can stay within your calorie range, then I don't see anything wrong with it.

Just stick within your daily calorie allowance, log everything in your food diary.

Regarding the cornflakes, weigh those that you put in your bowl so that you get the correct calorie amount. If you just estimate, you can go way over your allowance. (I remember doing so a long time ago, it was surprising how much I was really putting in my dish LOL)

I think I am going to have to toss in my 2 cents worth on this one. I think it is much more important to eat foods with fiber and low sugar for my calories than to just eat a calorie. So you can have a bowl of corn flakes, or you can have a fruit slushy that would have fiber in it..or add a piece of whole wheat toast with sugarless jam...you will get much fuller.
