Jumpy weight.

I've been doing fitness pal for 1-2 weeks, only trying to lose around 7 Ib. I've had my weigh in as first thing every morning, and since I've started I've exercised every day and stuck to my 1400 cals per day. This has worked and I had lost around two pounds already. But this morning my weight jumped back up to pretty much where I had started! I'm feeling pretty disheartened, will it jump back down again or am I starting from scratch? My weight has been fairly jumpy through my whole life but I thought since I'm controlling my diet slightly better maybe this would stop.

Any advice??

It happens, track your weight and focus on the general trend. Some people like to weigh once a week because of this, but I prefer everyday otherwise you don't know if the one day you weigh is another fluctuation. Also track your measurements, these are usually a better sign of how you're doing.

Weight fluctuates by lbs a day and can be anything from water weight to undigested food, so don't worry if it goes up a bit one day, it'll be back down the next.

EDIT: If you're interested, this is why my weight has looked like over the last 5 weeks:

Weight naturally fluctuates pretty wildly every day. Mine has always done so. My weight loss chart was a wild up-down zig- zag, BUT, a steady downward trend. Water weight fluctuates wildly, especially with TOM. Muscle retains water after a hard work out. Fat retains water more than muscle. Lots of factors. Keep steady at your program, use the tape measure MORE than the scale.

just echoing what the people above me are saying,

i do record my weight ever day, sometimes weigh myself more then once a day,

through a week i can fluctuations of 6-8kg but as long as the trend is heading down, then , thats what matters

stay on target and use a tape measure,

    good luck
