I don't have a gym membership so I need a workout regimen that I can do at home. I'm looking for dvd workouts, but feel free to offer other suggestions. I am petite (5'1") and currently weighing at 120. My goal weight is 110. I am somewhat sedentary (?), apart from daycare duties twice a week. What workout dvds do you recommend for someone who's just starting out?

I love workout videos. Two go to sites for information: collagevideo.com and totalfitnessdvds.com
These sites will give you video clips, reviews, impact level, fitness level, choreography level. I can give you the names of several DVDs I like ..... but you should narrow it down some.
My rec's (I can't dance and need low impact)
Leslie Sansone Walk At Home: http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-video/leslie-sansones-ultimate-5-day-walk-plan-6155
This one is great for a beginner because everything is chaptered and you can program as pieces as you want. There are small strength training sections .... just enough for the beginner. The cardio is beginner thru intermediate ..... pick 1 mile beginnner .... more miles for intermediate
Kelly Coffey Meyer has a beginner/intermediate one called "Start Here" : http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-video/kelly-coffeys-30-min-to-fitness-start-here-6097
This DVD has cardio and strength training all rolled into one. There are several premixes for longer (or shorter) workouts.0 -
If you're looking for dance type (I'm not a dancer).... but this is beginner (even I can do it).
Petra Kolber Cardio for Beginners: http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-video/petra-kolbers-cardio-for-beginners-5647
This has several pieces to mix and match. There are dance sections and athletic cardio sections. Great for the beginner because you can start with a couple short peices and then add on.
Non- Dance (again)
Chris Freytag: 2 Week Turnaround is good for a beginner: http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-video/prevention-2-week-total-body-turnaround-5698
There are 2 DVDs .... the cardio is a "walking style" workout .... very basic choreography. You can do just part of it if needed (do the warmup and skip to the last mile). The strength DVD is chaptered as well, you can just start with part of the workout and use lighter weights until you build up. There are even yoga sections here, so the stretch portion is a good intro for a beginner.0 -
Thank you so much I'll check those out.0
