As long as your calories are in line with what is recommended in the nutrition guide, and you are getting enough protein and dietary fat, don't worry about sugar or salt. As long as you are eating at a deficit, you will not gain fat. Insanity will cause you to gain water weight as your muscles retain glycogen due to the strenuous nature of the exercise program, but you should still lose inches.0

If you are following the nutrition plan that comes with Insanity, AND you don't have any dietary restrictions due to health problems like hypertension or diabetes, where salt & sugar are limited, then, no, you don't have to worry about the sodium & sugar. The program's recommendation is based on the body's need for nutrients during this strenuous exercise program. That being said, listen to your body, and note the response from being on the suggested guidelines. I, personally, had to change the recommendations, due to the feeling & response of my body. You will know if you're not eating enough; you'll lose too much weight too fast (like I did)...just be smart about it, and continually re-evaluate how you feel.0
