I figured I'd give Labatt 52 Ultra-lite a try. (beer) On the label is says per 12 ounces ( and they are 12 ounce bottles) . 52 calories, 1.9 grams carbs, 0 fat, 0 protein. What am I missing here?

I was going to suggest alcohol. At 52 calories, would you even taste it and would it even matter if you were drinking beer? I would prefer just have a real beer and get it over with.0

Alcohol?
Lol, Brilliant!0 -
Alcohol is different from the other Macros. It has a count of about 7 calories per gram.
Fat: 1 gram = 9 calories
Protein: 1 gram = 4 calories
Carbohydrates: 1 gram = 4 calories
Alcohol: 1 gram = 7 calories0 -
Yes, alcohol is its own macro nutrient. it is neither a carb, protein nor a fat.
That said, metabolically it acts closer to a carb than the other two.0 -
oh I see. Not much of a drinker, I didn't know alcohol had its own calories. I always thought calories came from just the 3 macro nutrients. Thanks for clearing that up.0

alcohol is not considered a macro because you can survive without it0

alcohol is not considered a macro because you can survive without it
Macro isn't synonymous with life essential. It just means the classes of chemical compounds humans consume in the largest quantities, which provide bulk energy.0 -
