NSV: Smaller clothes fit!

At the end of last summer, I bought a few smaller items on sale thinking that I’d be able to wear them at the beginning of this summer. Well, summer came and has almost gone. I had set them aside (all brand new) to donate.
Something told me to give them a try. I got 5 new outfits from the effort!
Patience has been hard for me. Usually, by this time in my weight loss effort, I get mad that I am not losing a pound a day (a made up but completely unrealistic goal that I probably got from some extreme weight loss show) and just go back to eating what I really want.
But seeing my efforts manifest this way may help me to hold on.

The best thing I learned this time (and the final time) around was that it is a slow process and that the scale lies. I have learned that I can't just give up if I don't lose each week because the next week I might lose a bit more and it all works out in the end. I was always expecting big quick losses and after a few weeks would give up because I didn't see the scale moving. That is where I messed up. Losing weight takes time and the only way to see progress is to stick with it, the next thing you know you are buying smaller clothes and getting compliments all over the place. I'm not saying that it is easy because it is not but you have to stick with it even when you feel like you aren't getting anywhere. Oh and the scale may not show movement but your clothes will fit different. Love that you now have five new outfits, that is awesome!!!!0

Yeah for smaller clothes that fit!! One of my favorite NSVs!! Good for you! I had to get all new summer clothes this year too....my favorite part was that I found one pair of black dressy shorts, SIZE 6!!! And they actually fit!!!! That's been my goal size all along. The others are 8-10s but I know sizes vary by company so finding even one thing in size 6 that fits, was/is a great feeling! A few of the shirts are smalls too which is a bonus because I'm perfectly happy with medium. But here's hope that the last 25 lbs. WILL eventually come off!! So congratulations and kudos to you...keep up the good work and you'll get to where you want to be too!:flowerforyou:0
