First day of the rest of my life.

Starting my weight loss journey today. Im very scared because in reality im the only overweight friend in my group of friends. So im in this alone. Im determined to try. Im 43 in a few weeks and been a stay at home mom for most of my 25 years of marriage. My kids are grown but still live here at home. My daughter is disabled and i have been her caregiver so long i have lost my own identity. Im going to try hard and hopefully win. Wish me luck.

    I hope you find a lot of support through your family and friends. You say that you are in it alone because none of them know your struggles but that does not mean that they can not support and encourage you. Talk to them and let them know about the new journey you have chosen, what you find may surprise you.,,, and if you don't well you have all of us at MFP behind you all the way! :flowerforyou:

    I totally understand! In my family and close circle of friends, I'm the only one on this journey but they've been fabulously supportive. This site is great and full of wonderful people all on the same path as you.

    You will get a lot of support here and also learn a lot. I've been yo-yoing for years but, have finally made the commitment to not fall off track. I also have a son who's disabled and I can certainly identify with you having lost yourself. That is something that happens between marriage and kids. You lose who you once were. I have trouble answering. What are your hobbies? What do you like to do? I really have to think about it. What I would like to do or what I wish I could do?
