This cracked me up. It drives me crazy as well. However, after reading your definitions for "loose", maybe I will start to overlook and forgive their errors. I do want my jeans to be "looser". There are days that I feel bound by my weight. It sometimes prevents me from doing the things I want to do (or at least from doing them as well as I want to do them). So, I would like to be "loosed" from the bonds of being overweight.
So....here's to LOSING so that I may experience more LOOSENESS in my life!0 -

Well, I can imagine that some people feel irritated by a text like that of the OP, but I am really grateful...
I'm not a native English speaker.. My first language was Dutch, and my second was French, so I was already 15 before I started learning English.
And each time I want to write down lo(o)sing weight, I felt confused... Was is loosing or losing?
But now I know: losing is 'verliezen', loosing is 'losser worden'...
Thank you OP!0 -

Why did you choose to post this in "Success Stories"? This is typically a place where people come to celebrate their accomplishments, not be berated for incorrect use of the English language.0
