Advice for my workout/diet?

My exercise regime currently consists of cardio on the elliptical for 45 mins at a moderate intensity, followed by about 25 minutes of free weight exercises. I do this about 4-5 days per week. My calorie allowance is 1200, but I do eat back some of my exercise calories. I've lost 31 lbs so far, but now I've seemed to stall. Any suggestions to start the weight loss again? I am still about 25-30 lbs from my goal.

I've done a lot of diets and done a lot of different exercise things. One thing that is noted often is that people begin to slide on how well they track their calories. They either aren't measuring anymore, or will sneak something extra, telling themselves they "deserve" it for how hard they've been working and they don't remember to add it into their daily calories.
If you are still measuring and weighing food and you're sure this is not the issue, it's possible you need to increase calories slightly. MFP uses a formula that uses your weight and energy expenditure to come up with a daily calorie amount. I'm guessing you chose the number 1200 and over-rode mfp's formula. This is fine if it's worked for you so far, but maybe consider following mfp's suggested calorie amount will help you over your plateau.0 -
Sometimes we need to change our exercise the muscles get used to the same routine and don't burn energy0

I agree with roly14 our bodies get used to the same routine I try to change mine everyday so that way the body gets confused and has no idea what I am doing it only takes 2 weeks for our bodies to get used to the same routine if you you do the same thing day in and day out try to change things0

I'd be interested to see what others say, I seem to be maintaining at the moment, things should change once the children go back to school in a couple of weeks and I can fit in a bit more exercise, I'm just happy to be maintaining and not gaining.
The only thing I can add is to drink plenty of water, that seems to help for me.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions. I I've thought about increasing my calories, but it also scares me. It seems counter-intuitive. 1200 is the goal MFP set for me to loose 2 lbs a week. I do carefully and accurately count my calories. My the first thing I will try is changing up my exercise routine. I'll have to be creative, as I do my workouts at home. Any other suggestions are welcome!0

Probably need some HIIT to shock your body and have a longer post workout metabolic burn rate.
Calorie counting? Look at protein, carbs, fat and sugar consumption. Sugar especially.
Combine HIIT with a zero sugar allowance really does shred weight off.0 -
I notice that my weight seem seems to go up and down very easily and when I'm not drinking enough water, I tend to gain or plateau. So that may be a good start. I struggle to exactly understand, but I think adding some extra protein may also help? Kinda give your muscles and body extra fuel to make your current activity more efficient. I also notice that the most fit looking girls at the gym hit a lot of different cardio machines and do them in a different order each time. I am giving that a shot right now.0
