1. If I relate to the question/person in some type of way
2. I used to debate/confront a lot, but I realized that it's just not worth it. Besides certain topics are best argued/discussed in a more meaningful place than an internet forum. I wonder if those who are quick to post scientific journal articles by regurgitating Google Scholar articles are using the same effort to educate/spark change in their community or public policy. Otherwise, it's kinda pointless.
