So like most people I find myself part of the yo-yo trend. When i workout hard and diet right I loose a quick ten pounds, then I try to increase and change my routine up regularly to keep me from reaching a plateau and I continue to make better choices in my diet. But for some reason after those inital ten pounds of water weight my body just says no more and then eventually after weeks of pleatuing I get fed up and eventually go back to my wikid weighs, my muscle turns to fat and I find my self fatter than I was to begin with in the first place. I just dont know how to keep a good thing going and I see my friends who have 100+ to loose flying past me with rapid spead and I cant break the 200lbs mark. I am sick of weighing 200lbs and I am just fed up. I would be thrilled to see 180lbs again. I went through boot camp with the military, I have overcome every other obsticle in my life, why cant I get past this? HELP!?!?!

Hey Soldiergrl,
Don't give up! Are you eating enough? If you aren't eating enough, your body won't let go of the fat. If you struggle after the first 10, and your eating enough protein, then your giving up too fast. Aim for 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fat. Stick with it for 3 months and your body will learn to let go. Eating is 80% of the battle. And of course, measurements are a better way to gauge success. Success comes with a lifestyle change and consistency for the long term. Be honest with yourself and track everything! There are no quick fixes. We all know that but we hope for it anyhow. Keep at it! You can do it!0 -
You definitely look great at 200lbs!! Keep your head high, try to be patient, it will come I know when I start concentrating on the workout and food intake... and forgot about the scale, the weight tended to fall off. I'm hoping this will happen soon for me too (under the 200lb mark). Good luck!!!0

Thx I wish that photo was taken at 200 it was taken when I was my fitest at 150. Im afraid I look much worse now but cant bring myself to post a picture of the site. I am going to keep trying but its a long road to wight and hope for results when you may come to realize your doing everything wrong and never going to loose0 -
Consistency. Sustainability. Slow and steady.
Eat a modest deficit and train effectively. You don't need to change up your routine all the time. Find a good routine and stick with it. The only thing you change up is the intensity. Raise the bar every week. Change up some of your accessory work every so often, but the core of your training shouldn't really change all that much.0 -
I understand the feeling. If you think of it as a lifestyle change and forgive yourself for where you are now it may come easier I try to forgive myself everyday and I tend to feel better thus wanting to eat and care for myself more! Best wishes!0

When I get to a time where my weight will not change this what I normally do. Work really hard for a week then weigh-in and see where I am if a gain or small change then I do this again. Try not getting on the scale every morning because then you will see a greater change. I personally weigh myself everyday but I don't let it effect me much I look more at the big picture vs. daily changes. I also think you need to not let a number control your thoughts about how you are doing0

Basically this. Go slow. #1 cause of constant yo-yo'ing is trying to do too much, too fast and constantly failing.0 -
