Swimmers! I need some fitness routines.

I LOVE to swim but freestyle laps are getting old. Anyone have any other strokes or routines? Id like to focus on arms , tricep and bicep. I dont want hanging skin when Im waving hello or goodbye.

swimming is an excellent form of exercise. however, if you are looking lose the flab on your arms, you calorie deficit is more important than your method of cardio. and if you are looking to improve your overall appearance, you should add resistance training into your routine

I found the same thing! Bored to death swimming laps. I bought a snorkel mask, foot flippers, and webbed gloves. This made it much more interesting. There are a lot more swimming strokes you can do with this equipment. I do a total of twelve stroke styles, for five minutes each, for a total of 60 minutes. The time just flies by!

I cycle my workouts with sidestroke and free, and I alternate between distance days and sprint days. On distance days I typically do a 250 warm up, followed by a 1000, followed by a 250 cool down. On sprint days I do a 500 timed warm up, followed by a 500-1000 sprint, rest 30-45 seconds between laps and go all out, then cool down with a 250.

You can do breast stroke also, it's a good arm workout, I do it occasionally, but it's not my go to stroke. If you really want to hurt figure out how to do the fly. A 250 fly will just about kill us mere mortals.

On sprint days I'll occasionally do pushups between laps, but only if I did legs in the gym before that.
