chicken help

Ok, so I have 2 chicken breast on the bone. I'm not sure how to weigh this. Do you count the bone? I was thinking of weighing before hand and then after and taking the difference but I'm not sure what's accurate. And is it white meat or dark due to the bone
and what about the nipple? Does it count as dark or light?
I'm so confused
TIA for any help

I though chickens had nuggets, not nipples. hmm.0

Just read the label! and *gigglesnort* Obviously the chicken nipple is dark meat. Who ever heard of white meat chicken nipples?0

Ma'am, if your chicken comes with nipples, I ain't so sure it's chicken to begin with.Altho in my personal experience, the nipple itself tends to be dark, surrounding meat usually lighter.

The nipple? Are you sure that's a chicken you bought?
I never buy bone-in chicken for that reason but I know there are bone-in entries in the database so just find one that specifies I guess. I'd probably take the meat off the bone and then weigh just the meat.0 -
I am dying here. Literally dying. I love you. I seriously would NEVER have opened this topic if I hadn't seen that it was created by one of my friends. :laugh:0

I love this thread. Don't know if it's serious or not, but it's hilarious either way.0 -
OMG and LOL!!! You are frickin' hilarious!
But seriously... it's white meat and if you cook it with the bone you weigh it with the bone in. If you cook it off the bone you can weigh it off the bone. At least that's how I understand it.0 -
*is dying laughing*
Ummm....I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure chicken don't suckle their young....
So....you might want to be sure you are actually eating chicken....0 -
chicken breasts are white meat so um...let's go with that
I don't recommend eating chicken nipples0 -
Well as for the bone when my husband measures with the bone after it's cooked and then just the bone after he eats and subtracts to get the proper amount of meat. I generally don't eat things with bones to avoid the hassle, but when the man wants a t-bone you give him a t-bone.
And as for the other thing. ....0 -
Weigh the chicken, eat the meat, weigh the bones and then you have an accurate count. Chicken nipples are actually calorie free...well, not exactly "free," but it takes more calories to digest the nipple than they have, so they're considered a thermic food.0

did you get your chickens from the nuclear power plant farm?0

mmmm dark meat nipples...0 -
are they perky?
i'm under the understanding that perky is younger and firmer, thus white meat...and older is a little darker especially if they have laid eggs..
so are they perky?
tell me that and I may have an answer for you.0 -
DOOD!! That's not a chicken, that's a ROOSTER!!! And that's not a breast. PUT IT DOWN!0
