Hey Yogis!

I'm a new yogi. I've done a series of videos online and feel like I'm doing well. But just to make sure I'm taking a basics class at a studio by my house this weekend.
However I bought a Groupon for another studio near my work that offers hot yoga.
Is it okay to go and try hot yoga? Or should I build up a better base first? I wanted to go next week so I will have had the basics class by then.

I think the videos you've watched online should help, especially with being familiar with some of the positions. I would definitely just go and try hot yoga. I recently started doing hot yoga (with only youtube videos as experience) and I did totally fine. There will be other people there you can watch and follow. One thing you'll probably have a problem with is the heat. You might be shaking a lot, and you'll be sweating a lot too. But keep in mind you can always rest in child's pose whenever you want0

My sister went to a hot yoga class without having any previous yoga experience and loved it (she's super fit though). Just keep in mind you can always rest. let the instructor know you are kind of new, and if they offer easier variations of the poses, don't feel like you're wimping out by doing the modified versions. Also, bring a towel!0

Take lots of water too. You loose quite a bit sweating so stay hydrated!0
