What on Mother Earth is Boston Market putting in their Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies?!?!?!! Why is 1 cookie 379 calories!!??? I question this (& am a bit freaked out) because the store bought cookie dough is approx 90 calories per cookie & the Boston Market cookies have about 2 - 2.5 servings in 1 cookie, so where' the other 100 calories coming from in the Boston Market cookie?? Is it a preservative they're using to keep the cookies soft & extend shelf life?? I guess it doesn't really matter because I won't be eating anymore Boston Market Nestle Chocolate Chip cookies. It slays me to know that 1 Cookie is more calories than a 6" sub from Subway!!??!! Wish I'd looked up the calories before I at that damn cookie.

Not that it's the most reliable, but the Boston Market website itself says for a serving of 85 g, 370 calories. It also lists the ingredients.

preservatives don't have calories, in fact by design they are metabolic inhibitors to some degree (not all, some)

also...you're eating a cookie....flour, sugar, fat, and a dash of flavor, its practically a poster child for the calorie.

This is a learning lesson: always check out the calories before eating something. It saves your mind from going crazy,.
  • Lesson, very much, learned.

Mistakenly thought (1) little cookie wouldn't be too bad but, 379 calories!!! Will turn my occasional use of the MFP mobile app into a constant (thankfully I'm in Chicago, where wi-fi signals abound).

  • Used MFP's food database to find the Nestle calories, but will certainly take a look at nutritionrank...

They are probably using all whole-food, fresh ingredients. The ready-made stuff at the store is made with "corner-cutting" ingredients to make it less expensive and "fresh-tasting" for weeks.

Remember that some times when people enter things into the data base they either have a typo or they just jack it up.. When I see something that doesnt look right I try to find correct info on the web. The Boston Market website has a nutrisional guide so i would check there first. Who ever entered into the database may have meant 1 serving ( 4 cookies) but put 1 Cookie in error.

Looks like your question was solved, but I also think the cookies sold at boston, panera, subway, etc. are much larger than your typical cookie!
