Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me,

About 4 weeks, I started exercising, running, and Boot Camps. I was doing Slimming World, but felt de-motivated with the diet, so decided to write everything down on My Fitness Pal. I must admit I am not a BIG eater, and eat about 1200 calories a day. My diet is ok, and vary my food. I ensure I am eating protein, carbs, fats in every meal.

I am wanting to loose about 1 1/2 stone to get down to my target weight of 10st 7. Does anything have any advise for me? Ive heard alsorts of reason for my weight gains- Water, Muscle more denser, up your calories........

At the moment getting on the scales is deperessing me, and not giving me the right motivation.

Stats:
Height: 5ft 7in
Current Weight 12st 2 (put on 4lbs this week)
Build: Medium

Hope someone can help me, any pointers will help massively!!

Thanks,

Well, if you're only eating 1200 calories, and doing all this exercise, muscle mass gain isn't the reason. You are more than likely retaining some water, and possibly under eating.

If you only take in 1200 calories and exercise 400 off, you only net 800 calories for the day.

That's my 2 cents, but you really need to open your food diary to get better advice.

I'm 5'6", medium build, exercise about 4 times a week, and have a NET calorie goal of 1600 a day and have been losing consistently for months (no plateau yet, knock on wood). Some days I eat over my calorie goal, some days I eat under, so long as I'm close I'm pretty happy as it all comes out in the wash.

If you put on 4 pounds in a week, it's probably water, not fat. Are you tracking your sodium? And I second the request you open your diary if you want more in-depth perspective. Eating a few more calories a day is my hunch, but I'd like to see your pattern before I say for sure that's what you need.
