Astounded because you love it or.......

I think it is awesome and spot on. One of the best written articles involving how to properly view and treat our bodies, how to feed them and move them, etc. I hope thats what you're going for too...

Yeah there is another thread around here that linked to that article. I would of been turned away by her qualification as a " past life regression specialist"

Overly dramatic. Nothing wrong with 1200 calories a day for most women. She's acting like she assisted Hitler with the Holocaust. I'm not a fan of those weightloss diet companies but they are a business, use their services of don't, its up to you. They aren't committing genocide like the article seems to suggest.

nice article but it just tells you why not to eat 1200 calories. It doesn't say what IS a healthy way to eat.

1200 calories for a woman that's 5'2 and 150lbs trying to get to 120lbs or 115lbs is FINE. Nothing wrong with it what so ever, I eat 1700 to 1800 calories a day as a 274lbs man and its plenty of food and I'm losing weight. A small woman trying to lose that last 30 pounds or so is not going to eat much over 1200 calories a day. Especially If they aren't extremely active...

To me it's more about the reminder to love and take care of yourself...that's what I got out of it anyway. Not to mention the fact that if don't net enough calories I can't sleep and start to shake a little.

Yes, you're right. For a sedentary 5'2" woman, 1200 probably is fine. However, that is not "most women." I'm willing to bet that the majority of women looking to lose weight are a) taller than 5'2" and b) at least somewhat physically active.

I'm 5'4", moderately active and looking to lose the last five pounds or so. I eat around 2300 a day. 1200 is a joke for most people.

At the end she suggests eating REAL food. She worked for a company that sold pre-packaged, chemical laden food.

The part about loving yourself is cool, I'm just not seeing what she did that was so wrong, She just seemed to overreact a bit. The advice she gave when working for the weight loss company want bad. Nothing wrong with the calorie limits, nothing wrong with encouraging someone to "get back on the bandwagon".

Very true! I didn't mean to start the whole evil 1200 calories debate. I loved the article

2300 calories is a lot for a woman trying to lose weight unless you're a triathlete or something. Most women I know trying to lose weight eat around 1200 to 1500. It's actually plenty of calories for weight loss. You need a 500 calorie deficit a day to lose only a pound a week.

I ate 1695 cals today and it was plenty of food...
