Absolutely! There should be no pressure on your knees. You'll spend most of the time lying on your mat or machine. Perfect exercise for knee issues!

When I had knee trouble, my knee would complain about some of the mat exercises that call for extended legs. But if you play it by ear, you'll be fine.

There are different kinds of Pilate’s classes. Some use machines (Reformer for example), others are called Mat Pilates, Power Pilates etc. Some instructors use light free weights and incorporate shoulders, biceps and triceps workouts while standing or balancing in one leg (involves the core more), others use bands to stretch the legs while resting on the mat.

Some instructors also add squats and some lunges; all depends in how the class is taught because these days there are many variations. But in my experience all instructors offer modification for people with some kind limitation, so you should not have any problems. I also have knee issues and I take Pilates every week. Just let the instructor know of your problem, and enjoy. It is a great fitness program.
