Low-Carb and no cravings anymore

So I'm on 50-100 gram of carb intake and if ever I go over that intake I just burn them off with exercise.
Question for my beautiful mfp people,
Do you guys feel like you don't crave the foods you used to crave before if ever you're taking in lower carbs, say 50-100 gram of carbs(with or without exercise)?
Oh by the way I'm a shorty female so I believe that I can survive on the not so low carb everyday. (:

Not a low carber, but I wanted to say that I think that the mentality of "burning" calories, carbs, etc, off is dangerous. You should really strive for a consistent diet from day to day.0

I am a T2 diabetic...When I eat low carb (which should be all the time), and only get my carbs from veggies and fruit, I find I don't want the "bad" carbs that get me into trouble. I am currently on a weight loss effort that I am trying to make a permanent lifestyle change. So when I eliminate the carbs that I am not supposed to eat anyway, I find I don't want them. The day I DO indulge it's like a flood gate opened. I too and between 50 and 100 a day. I am not a little woman either...lol0

oh. I thought low carbs are for short people only? lol.0

I don't notice a huge difference in cravings when I'm low carb or not.
The main thing is just getting in the mindset of "im eating this way, and I'm not going to break away from that".
I may get a junk food craving once a month, and on occasion I'll indulge it, but for the most part I've made up my mind to only consume certain things, and I stick with that.0 -

Low carber here, < 30 g per day. I have noticed that when I eat starchy carbs that are within my limit, (< 10 g for meals & < 6 g for snacks) I'm hungry shortly after, like say 2 hours. However, if I stay away from starchy carbs altogether, much much better.
No cravings, not hungry and go about 4 hours between meals.
Works well enough for me to eat intuitively. Something I haven't been able to do for about 15 years but hadn't realized it. :drinker:0 -
Avoiding refined carbs really helps. I try to limit processed carbs to whole wheat bread or pasta, but not but a couple of svgs a day.0

yes, it's this way for me too except I am a little woman...I'm also T2D...(not sure why the little woman thing but thought I'd mention in the interest of full disclosure  )0 -
Hi, Prevention magazine had suggested in an article about weight loss, to drop your carbs to 50 g for two days per week and that over a 6 week period of time you would notice a fairly decent weight loss (I believe they mentioned 9 lbs average). Of course, the other days are to be spent on healthy eating, but you up the carbs more to normal. I am trying this and I agree, when I leave the "bad carbs" alone, I do so much better. Yesterday I ate out with a friend and then last night had snack crackers, and a mini M & M bad, and wanted more stuff. I will say though, that 50 gm is low and I felt pretty lethargic the first day I did this. Second day, I made sure I ate a little more protein and it was a better day. My downfall is sweet stuff, so staying away from that is a better plan for me.0

First of all, thanks for calling me beautiful!
Many people on MFP swear that reducing carbs brings the magic. Meh. Try to differentiate between different carbs, rather than going on crazy dietary reductions (provided you have no medical condition that would require you to do so).
I cut out most of my wheat products at the beginning and that helped me discovering different foods, but I eat up to 200g carbs a day now and I'm not craving, sweating, bloating, exploding, murdering- everything is okay.0 -
Unless you have certain medical conditions low carb will not help you lose weight.

This will give you an idea of how many carbs you need.0
