Need some help

My ankle was killing me Tuesday after kickboxing class. I had to go back to the urgent care doctor anyway to have some blood drawn so I had her look at it. She said that I have tendonitis in my ankle and that I should elevate it and ice it but that I could return to my workout this morning if I didn't do roundhouse kicks. Well this morning it still hurt terribly so I didn't do my workout. My best friend works with a podiatrist and he told her that I should be off my ankle for two weeks and definitely no working out on it. I'm torn on what to do. Do I go by what the doctor that actually saw me said, or the specialist? It's three weeks before my wedding and I believe that's why the urgent care doctor told me I could keep working out on it, she knew I didn't want to stop working out so close to my wedding, but I want to be able to WALK down the isle, not limp! Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? I've never had tendonitis before.

If it still hurts you can always go back to the doctor you saw before, maybe mention that you have had some advice about resting for 2 weeks, depends how open you are with your doctor.
Always worth checking with them again if there is still an issue.

I would definitely go back to the doctor you saw.

First I would start by getting some Naproxen ( Aleve) if you can take it without any ill effects. It's an anti-inflammatory and should help alleviate the pain and any swelling. Then I would ice/heat treat it for a couple more days and if not better I would go get a second opinion on it.

i've never had tendonitis in my ankle, but have it in my wrists. I went back to work with a brace on it, and taking Aleve or Ibuprofen (whichever I could take). I'd definitely see a dr about it again, depending on how bad it is it could morph into more. Don't let pre-wedding stress get the best of you!
