Does anyone have any recommendations for a gadget that would measure calories burned during activities like Zumba, Belly Dancing, Bike Riding, Skiing etc?
I wanted a way to get a more accurate count of the calories I was burning than just an estimate from online tools (since some of them vary a bit).

Purchase a Heart Rate Monitor from Walmart or Kmart they run about $30-$400

I think what you are looking for is a heart rate monitor. There are many different kinds with varying price ranges. Whatever you decide, I would suggest getting a heart rate monitor that provides for continuous heart rate. It may cost a bit more, but it will be more accurate.
There are many brands - Polar and Garmin tend to be two of the favorites. You may do a little research on them and see which one seems to fit your goals and desires.
Good luck!0 -

I have a Reebok Precision heart rate monitor and love it. Whatever monitor you gt, just make sure you get one with a chest strap they're the most accurate.0 -
How do I find out how many calories burned from my heart rate? (Yes I'm very new at actually paying attention to these things lol). I was hoping something would just tell me *blank* calories burned. haha
I mean like do I check my heart rate the whole time I'm working out or what?0 -
The only thing I've seen, that I think (because honestly I'm not sure)...does what I'm looking for...is the BodyBugg? But I was hoping there is something not quite as complicated out there.0

A heart rate monitor is something that straps around your chest and has a watch hat goes on your wrist. It's very simple. You turn it on when you start working out, and turn it off when you're done. It'll tell you how many calories you've burned.0 -
This is what I'm talking about: http://www.amazon.com/Reebok-Precision-Trainer-Heart-2013Rate-Monitor/dp/B001F32UQS
If you sign up for alerts on woot.com they have them on sale for like $25 pretty often, that's where I got mine.0 -
Sweet! Thank you toots. I really don't understand some of this, but I know most of the exercise I plan on doing (besides walking) wasn't online for me to use a tool for, so I needed some help. lol0
