Ok so i am at the store today buying stuff for dinner and so i needed some kinda dressing for dinner. I am looking and looking and reading the back of lables. on average everything was 150 calories per 2 TBSP of dressing....then i run across a bottle that says calorie free....me thinking yeah oh ok....lol....so i pick it up and sure enough 0 calories 0 fat 0 cholest 0 carbs then right next to it i see sugar free ranch 35 calories per 2 TBSP. wow that ain't bad. 4.5 tatoal fat 0 cholest 0 carbs

So i am then thinking this can't possiably taste any good at all.....and guess what it does....not bad at alll....wanna know the brand?

I have seen the advertisements in magazines. They have a whole line of calorie free products. I have never tried any but I guess there is a catalog you can get. They also have a website.

I have the maple syrup.....not great, but not bad either. It's not like I eat pancakes or waffles much, but it's a great way to keep the calories down when I do have them.

I am a big fan of keeping food as close to it's original form as possible, the more science messes with it the worse it seems to get for us, that said....

My solution to the blue cheese dilemna is to mix 1tbsp of blue cheese with 1tbsp of vinegar (balsamic is my favorite but red is great too). I get the blue cheese flavor I am looking for without all of the calories.

Another way to do it is to make a vinegarette with some white beans and blue cheese, the beans make it creamier and add a bit of protein to the dressing.

This is similar to what I do. I'd rather just go ahead and eat something I recognize as food and balance out the rest of my diet so that the bit of excess from a bit of cheese gets balanced out by some other really healthy stuff. It tastes better, also, in the long run, I find it costs less.

Maybe I'm just a cheapskate, LOL!

I do tend to use my homemade 'blue cheese dressing' as something other than a salad dressing though. I like it as a sandwich spread with some turkey, a dash of hot sauce and some lettuce, all wrapped up in a whole wheat burrito. Tasty, and not excessive calorie-wise.

I have a Weight Watchers recipe for bleu cheese dressing and it is really creamy and good. I will give it to whoever wants it. Just message me. I don't mind sharing!
