Are apples REALLY negative calories?
I've been researching it and I keep finding conflicting answers. (as I am sure I will get here, just curious what the general population on MFP thinks!!)

Apples are highly modified-by-man sugar bombs disguised as "natural" fruit.0

I don't think they qualify as "negative", but there's nothing wrong with an apple a day. Or so.0

Not even close.0

There is nothing wrong with apples or any other fruits in moderation. Just don't eat 10 a day. As for negative calories, no, there is quite a lot of calories in apples, about 80 or so depending on how big it is.0

People do apple days, I did when I was going to a weight loss clinic and hit a plateau or if I gained. Basically during an "apple day" you will eat 6 apples and nothing else, and very little water. The apple works as a diuretic, pulls the excess fluid out and makes you pee a lot. It does cause a loss of "water" weight and hard as hell to do and I don't suggest it. Maybe that's why its considered "negative" calories?0

When I read the title of your post my first thought was 'lol NO! An apple a day doesn't really keep an apple away' :P0

I must have missed where I claimed to, but thanks for playing. Time to scoop some unicorn poop (she had a lot of apples tonight - so much fiber in those skins) and go to bed.0 -

I'm drinking a lot of whiskey tonight and very little water, should I do a "whiskey day"? I'm pretty sure I'll pee a lot.0 -

An apple is a fantastic food!!!
Once washed properly - or just buy organic in the first place.0 -
Yes they are negative but only when you surpass your daly carbohydrates other than that they are great for you. Are are a very low glycemic carb and contain a good amount of fiber.0
