FitBit Challenge out there?

I searched the boards and didn't find one, don't know how to search the groups.
I am looking to see if there is a FitBit Challenge here on MyFitnessPal, or else some people interested in starting one with me.

Welcome!

I'm a part of a group called "Fitbit Users". When I synced my Fitbit to MyFitnessPal it suggested that I become a part of the group. There is a discussion started in this group called "Fitbit Challenge". Perhaps you could join this group and join that discussion thread??? Hope this helps :)

Thanks brown1h, however this challenge/discussion you pointed out is dead.
I think I will start a new one.
Suggestions on how to find members to join?

I'd love to take part in your challenge. I'm just getting started with my Fitbit and I know I could use the extra motivation.

    Awesome! I am excited.
So, to keep things interesting the challenge will change a lot.
I will be leaving for work at 4am tomorrow so this will be my last time posting until tomorrow night.

The first challenge will be a 1 day challenge. 10,000 steps or 5 miles in one day.
Those of whom do not have a FitBit but have a step counter, do the 10,000 steps.
Those of whom do not have a FitBit or step counter but have a way of track distance, walk 5 miles.

I double challenge those whom have a FitBit, or another means of tracking both.
I challenge thee to complete both! 10,000 steps and be certain it is 5 miles. If you have not hit 5 miles, keep going!

Sounds like fun but I have admit that I'm a postman and regularly do over 5 miles a day and 10,000 steps whilst working. So not really sure it'd be fair entering.

It isn't a competition. It is a challenge group.
Nobody becomes the one winner in the end, we all do.
There will be additions to the challenge outside of steps and mileage that would require you to go the distance yourself. (Ex. 20 flights of stairs)
You are welcome if you want.

Sounds like fun, I just got a fit bit this week. So fat my best day was 7,000 steps & 16 sets of stairs. 10,000 is something I hope to get up to.

Just got my fitbit two weeks ago and would love to be in a challenge group here!

Yea! We are getting a few people together.
I have sent everyone who has commented an invite to the group.

    How did you do today?

Going to continue posting the new challenges here for awhile, as well as on the group page, so everyone gets it.
Next challenge, for Saturday, will also be a 1 day.

    11,000 steps and/or 5.5 miles
    10 flights of stairs
100% of your daily goal of water (I am not going to tell you what that goal should be. Hopefully you have one.)
1 addition exercise outside of walking for at least 10 minutes

Sunday's challenge is to stay under or meet your calorie goal and 100% of water. We are going to have Sundays be easy days as most people seem to choose this day as their rest day.

Push yourself that little extra to meet Saturday's goal. You can rest Sunday :)

I wonder if there's a challenge like this with the bodymedia device? Seems like a good way 2 motivate each other! Best of luck!

I sent invitations to the group for all :)

So, I am thinking, since we are all in different time zones, I will just continue to post challenges in advance a bit and each challenge will be for a specific day (ex. Saturday.) We will all be doing the same challenges, just finishing at different times.

So, here is the challenge for next week, starting on Monday morning and ending Friday night (this week will require a little note taking/keeping track and you have 5 days to complete this - deadline is Friday night):
    60,000 steps (averaging 12,000 a day)
100 flights of stairs (averaging 20 a day)
    30 miles (averaging 6 a day)
50 very active minutes (averaging 10 a day)
Stay within your calorie goal and meet your requirements for water
  • Count me in. I just got my fitbit one on Saturday and am excited!

I'd like to join too! Is there a group? Even though I'm doing Insanity I'm going for evening runs just to get those steps in LOL.
