Masterchef and Bake Off have converged for me, and now I want to cook - with butter and chocolate and banned things. :( Anyone else suffering some serious cake envy?

Butter and chocolate are NOT banned.

There is no need to suffer. Cook/bake the things you want to eat and remember that this is your life. It is meant to be enjoyed.

Also: eat real cake. It's important.

I love Masterchef and Bake off! I also cook with butter and chocolate. I made a delicious chocolate cake yesterday for a friend, with chocolate, butter and double cream, and enjoyed a slice of it. I have made some adjustments, and I don't bake the really high calorie stuff as often, or at least not when I'm going to be eating most of it! I'm not eating cake all day every day. I still bake though, and cook with real butter, oil, cheese etc. I've already cooked a couple of the dishes from the current Masterchef series, and they've been lovely. I love good food, and I love cooking and baking, so right from starting on MFP, I knew I had to learn to incorporate those things into my lifestyle.

btw I peeked in your diary OP, and you seem to be able to fit cheesecake, ice cream etc into your diet (and good for you!), so why not cake? Or something cooked with butter?

I want to get into baking keto-friendly desserts, but not until I get paid to get the ingredients. So I must suffer.

    Mmmm...cheese cake.

I am actually baking a bunch for my teamates at work, as I'm leaving at the end of the week. My point about chocolate, butter etc was mainly because I want to bake about fifty different things, and I have to cut it down to baking maybe once a week. Mostly because all the ingredients are so expensive. But, on tuesday I'm turning out, tiffin, white choc and banana chip muffins, pineapple upsidedown cake and oreo cupcakes.

Usually if I can go for a 2 hour walk I make french toast, cooked in butter for lunch, but today it is raining too much to go outside :(

Know exactly where you're coming from.
I watch way too much of all of the cooking programmes.
When I got a bit bored the other day I cooked apple cake and weetabix cake. Hope my sons finish them soon.
I just found a yummy looking recipe for cheesecake which I shall try tomorrow.
My lucky sons (both very fit and active and carrying no extra weight whatsoever) love it when I get the baking bug!
I try the 'small slice as lunch option' and hope it works!
    Enjoy
