Well, I have almost managed to go an entire month without weighing my self. I have lost weight in the past and previously weighed myself every day. I'm hoping this new approach will help me not get too exited or discouraged on a daily basis. I started at 275 lbs at 5 ft 11 in and am working at getting to 200 lbs eventually. On the 31st of this month I will post my weight loss for the month. Hope all this sweating pays off.

Love your profile picture, standing by the cup. Okay, back to your post. You have done great not looking at the scale for a month. I have been on here for a while and have yet to be able to do that. I weigh-in every week. Whatever number you see on your weigh-in don't be discouraged if it's not what you expected. Just be proud of yourself that you started and have stuck to it for a month and then keep at it. Keep a record of your body measurements because seeing the loss of inches will help encourage you.
Good luck!0 -
Thank you Thickgirl for the words of encouragement. We will see how it goes.0

Wow I am Impressed!! I was weighing myself everyday, but it stressed me out. So now I weigh myself twice a week and that seems to be going well so far:) good luck with your weigh in!!0

Talk about self control. If I feel "skinny" I weigh myself often.
Good luck with the weigh in. And love the profile pic too. Love the Hockey Hall of Fame.0 -
That is pretty impressive willpower to not step on the scale for a month. Not sure
if I could do it.
Keep at it! Sounds like you're on the right track.0 -
last time i weighed in was early June at the doctor's office for a routine checkup...needless to say, that weigh in was quite a shock to me. I knew i was putting on weight but figured as long as i didnt step on the scale it didnt count...lol...yeah well, it was then i decided i had enough of not facing the facts ...i mean, seriously, you would think that when i had to dig out my three-sizes-too-big clothes that i had packed away, because nothing else was fitting, i would have faced the reality of the situation....or when i found myself buying the stretchy old lady pants that my mom used to wear (and i swore i would never own)
Well, the reality of the situation today is that i have once again...and for the final time because they are going to the Goodwill... Packed up the three -sizes-too-big pants...along with the old lady stretchy pants....and am sliding into the three sizes smaller clothes. I still have a few sizes to lose, but that will come.
I have no idea how much i have lost. I decided to let my clothes speak for themselves. I am one of those people who used to weigh myself 3-4-5 times a day, sliding the scale around on the floor, carrying it from room to room, hoping i would weigh an ounce less. My moods were dependent on what the scale had to say, so i figured this time around, i am not going to weigh until i am good and ready to weigh. I suspect that i might have lost about 30 lbs thus far, based on my clothing....but i know if i stepped on the scale and it said 25lbs....i would be upset...thats just me...i dont know when i will weigh...maybe it will be my christmas present to me....we'll see!
Good luck with your weigh in...i will be looking for your posting!0 -
