I would like to know the same thing because I like to bake and my kids and husband love cookies and I feel very deprived when they are eating them in front of me. I want to enjoy them to but if I'm going to lose the weight I need to I shouldn't.
  • Use Google. You can also add flax to most cookie recipes.

    Black and White Cake Cookies

Yield: 2 dozen cookies (serving size: 1 cookie)

    Ingredients
    COOKIES:
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2/3 cup applesauce
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/4 cup butter, softened
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    2 large egg whites

    FROSTING:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, divided
    3 tablespoons 2% reduced-fat milk, divided
    1/4 teaspoon almond extract
    2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
    Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375°.

To prepare cookies, lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring with a whisk.

Place applesauce in a fine sieve; let stand 15 minutes.

Combine drained applesauce, granulated sugar, and butter in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed 2 minutes or until well blended. Beat in vanilla and egg whites. Add flour mixture; beat at low speed until blended.

Drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until set (not browned). Cool on pans 2 minutes or until firm. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire racks.

To prepare frosting, combine 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, and almond extract in a bowl, stirring well with a whisk until smooth. Working with 1 cookie at a time, hold cookie over bowl and spread about 1 teaspoon white frosting over half of cookie (scrape excess frosting from edges). Let stand 10 minutes or until frosting is set.

Combine 3/4 cup powdered sugar and cocoa in a bowl. Gradually add 2 tablespoons milk, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Working with 1 cookie at a time, hold cookie over bowl and spread about 1 teaspoon chocolate frosting over other half of cookie (scrape excess frosting from edges). Let stand 10 minutes or until frosting is set.

i have this recipe, i found online. They are good, but not great, and they do not store well, I added a half tsp of nutmeg to it as well. They do not expand in the oven, so make them as big as you need them! Check out my blog (in sig line) to see he pictures, i made them September 16th.

    Healthy Banana Cookies

    3 ripe bananas
    2 cups rolled oats
1 cup dates, pitted and chopped ( i used 1 cup raisins)
1/3 cup vegetable oil ( i used 1/3 cup unsweetened apple sauce)
    1 tsp vanilla extract

In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in oats, dates, oil and vanilla. Mix well and allow to sit for 15 minutes.

Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes in preheated 350 F oven or until lightly brown.

Any meringue cookies are low fat BUT they are a little higher in sugar. Just make up the meringue (egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar) and flavour them with any extract (I like mint, with mini chocolate chips). Bake in a low heat oven for about an hour until they sound hollow. Remove and let cool....Without the chocolate chips, it's about 13 calories per cookie (2.8g of sugar each)
