weight loss but no INCH loss?

Hi guys,
Was wondering if anyone has ever lost weight from dieting, but haven't noticed any measurement changes?
I am on LCHF diet and lost a decent amount (for me) in a few weeks.. Now I haven't actually measured myself yet, but from what I see I don't look any different (wanted to do the measurements when I was confident they would be different) Was just wondering if anyone has had weight loss but no change in measurements... and may be able to shed some light?

If you're doing LCHF then you've lost some fat...but a lot of water weight, so you're not going to see results instantaneously with the measuring tape. I think I had to lose about 10 Lbs of actual fat to lose an inch around my waist. Also, the more you have to lose, the more weight you have to lose to really see a shift in measurement...the less weight you have to lose, the faster you'll see it. So it just depends.0

You haven't measured yet so you really don't know.
Also, keep in mind with a low carb diet (which is what I am interpreting LCHF to mean), you will drop a bunch of water weight initially which won't actually affect your size, it is due to glycogen stores in your muscles which require water to be stored. When you drop carbs, you lower these store, releasing water.
I went an entire month without changing on the scale and very little in measurements. However, I also took progress photos and you could see a difference in places you don't usually measure, like my face and neck, between my waist and my hips, etc.
it can depend on where you lose first. If you are losin all over, it won't be as not bike at first.0 -
Just looking at yourself won't really tell anything - we tend to have a skewed perspective of how we actually look.
But I haven't lost any noticeable about of inches yet - even according to the measuring tape it is too insignificant to care about. Can't even begin to consider buying new clothes yet either. Just depends on your body type. Some people will have a lot of inches lost and some won't.0 -
Hi.
How long have you been at this exactly? If a few weeks is under a month, give it a bit more time. Also, are you exercising? Depending on your starting weight and goal you can certainly lose fat without exercise, especially on a low carb diet. But I've found a little daily cardio really accelerates the rate of visible loss and your "mirror" results.
Another question: do you "feel" a difference yet? I've experienced points shortly after starting where a few weeks pass, I see the scale go down and feel slightly thinner, but the tape measure takes a bit longer to catch up. If you really are staying within your goals though, that loss is definitely going to have to eventually happen.0 -
Thanks for all the replies! So I have measured now, and I was correct that there was no inch loss. But like someone mentioned, I probably did lose water weight. I changed my eating habits about 4 months ago. Although, only been on the LCHF diet for around 3 weeks. Lost more weight but not in the measurements.
Some days I think my stomach looks smaller, then literally the next day it looks much bigger! maybe my body is taking a while to adjust0
