Lost 5lbs in a week somehow?

So my last week was probably the worst so far in terms of being over. Just because of beer.

If I don't include the beer I drank I was well under on numerous days of the last week. Does beer not really effect weight gain that much?

It certainly does. Just wait until you drink water. You'll see it climb back up because of the beer. Alcohol in general is a diuretic and causes dehydration. I've always found after a weekend of drinking, I would lose 2-3 lbs, but would gain it back throughout the week as I hydrate myself regularly again. Not sure if that's the exact science, however, this is just what I've found.

As long as you have a caloric deficit, you will lose weight.

Foods/beverages do not matter. It will however, determine how you feel physically.

Kind of makes sense. But this was last week midweek, maybe I just haven't been hydrating enough at all.

I had assumed that he's not in a deficit as he stated he's "over".

If you can fit beer in your caloric deficit, chug on. O_o

EDIT: Also remember being "over" on your calorie goal is different than being "over" in the sense of a surplus. You still have room if you exceed your "goal".

I read it differently I guess, since he said he was "well under" all week. But yeah I don't think he had enough to create a surplus.

I also agree with the dehydration, I meant to put that in my post but got preoccupied.

It can certainly affect the way other's look as well B)

Anyway yeah more specifically what I meant was there were 3 days in the last 10 days where I was over by about 1000 calories. The rest of the days were just approximately at my limit. I haven't been drinking as much water recently so I assume it's just water weight like several have mentioned. Makes the most sense. Science.
