Back training, vegetarian and really struggling again to get a healthy balanced diet with as much protein as poss. Have been using whey protein shakes for breakfast but not thinking they are agreeing with me without going into detail!

I originally thought I would try the eating clean plan but have also saw alot of success with people on IIFYM. Though they contradict the calculations in MFP. Where to start?!

    You kind of need to decide which approach you want. All approaches work the same and will provide the fit your results IIFYM is not any better than a traditional calorie count if you track calories correctly, they should almost be equal. Also, are you eating vegetarian because that is a lifestyle or you think it's healthier.

    The biggest issue is just getting adequate protein. So eat a lot of beans, protein shakes ( you can switch to soy or even try another type of whey) and if you need protein bars

    There are a lot of vegetarian protein options. Gardein, boca and morningstar make some very good, high protein and low carb options that I use regulalry to hit my protein goals. Whole foods has some really good vegetarian meats with a lot of protein (I had veggie gyros yesterday that were delicious). My diary is open if you want to poke around to see how I'm getting my protein as a vegetarian. You can also check out the Happy Herbivores group. I love IIFYM, but it doesn't contradict MFP; it's just a different way of looking at the system.     Thanks for the comments. I eat due to lifestyle, always have been since I was 10, would struggle to introduce meat to my diet now.
