Can't lose the last 5 lbs!

Hi all -

I'm new this and need some help! I have been consistently exercising (30 mins at min 3/week) and eating clean. I'm 123 lbs and would like to get down to 118-115lbs. I'm 5'3 so in a healthy BMI but would really like to get down at least 5lbs. I'm stuck! Nothing I have done has helped for months now, trying different exercises, staggering my carb intake, nada. Any advice??

Thanks!

Tagging along for advice too! I'm just under 5'5" and am 129 and I can't lose my last six pounds either! I run everyday and eat TDEE -20% and the scale won't budge. I take that back, I went up a little today and I have no idea why! I'm hoping someone will have some great advice for us.

I am 5'3 and 123. It took me a month to go from 125.5 to 123. I second guessed myself the whole time (am I eating too much? am i not eating enough? is it water weight? is it muscle gains? i thought you can't gain muscle on a deficit! should i drop my carb intake? am i falling into ketosis? more cardio? less cardio? heavier weights? ). Years ago I weighed much, much more than this so I am accustomed to seeing drastic changes on the scale on a week to week basis (I used to weigh 192, have maintained around 125ish for seven years).

Then yesterday I tried on some of my clothes and realized that 2.5 pounds looks and feels like a 10 pound loss. I'm still aiming for another 5 pounds but I have to admit my body looks insane lately!

My advice: increase the high intensity work just a notch (i.e. add one 20 minute interval sprint session this week) and be extra mindful of calorie creep/try to cut around 100 calories from your daily intake. Aim for a 1/2 pound of fat loss per week.

If your only workout is cardio (i.e. running) IT'S TIME TO INCORPORATE STRENGTH TRAINING. This is going to make all the difference in the world. Lifting weights has given me the sexiest shape of my life. I am a size 2-4 in clothing and a total girly-girl, this is not going to turn you into Arnold.

If you are eating at TDEE - 20% then overestimating your calories by just a bit could put you in maintenance.

Also, Niarkis, what kind of exercise are you doing for 30 min 3x weekly? Are you active the rest of the time?
