Hi all,
so, I woke up this morning and for the first time since a started this weight loss (3 months and 15kg ago) I binged all morning, and tracked everything, and I have managed to use my entire days calories in one sitting.
!!!!!
you can check it out in my diary if you like,
any suggestions of where to go from here?
thanks.

Better start earning yourself some extra cals from exercising!
Or, don't sweat it, either way I'm sure you'll be fine!0 -

this does not feel like it's going to be a good day! I've already eaten all of that, and im considering going and getting a huge amount of hot chips for lunch!!!!!!0

Drink plenty of water, go lift some heavy stuff, have a sensible meal with plenty of protein later. Don't sweat it - just don't turn a bad meal into a bad day, into a bad week etc... accept it without guilt and move on!0

1. Quick-added calories should be used sparingly, if at all. It makes it very difficult to track macros and to know how accurate you are.
2. You are probably hungry. 1200 calories is not a lot of food. I don't know your height/weight/gender/goals, but you can probably eat more and also accomplish weight loss if that's what you want, without binges that make you feel guilty.
3. You will probably also be a lot less hungry if you eat more protein and fat.
4. I would eat a normal sized to light dinner (you may feel full, but don't eat light or fast to punish yourself) and move on. Even if you ate a whole additional 1200 calories, it still wouldn't gain you a pound.

im thinking of giving up on today and just going out tonight and eating hot chips for dinner? should I have a complete cheat day, or would it be best to keep with it? opinions!0

In response to the question you just asked, I thought I would bump up my earlier statement... emphasizing the important part.
Chances are you have been punishing yourself eating at 1200 calories, and you are now starting to feel the need for a binge day. This is not a sensible approach and perhaps a more sustainable approach would be advisable in the long term.0 -
good advice! thanks.0

You are going to have off days, the best thing I would recommend is to get back to your normal eating. If you get in the habit of say "oh well I blew it early today, may as well go all put/cheat day" you'll find yourself doing it a lot. I know I did.
I vote go back to regular meals that will satisfy your hunger and keep going tomorrow.
I am also not a fan of doing exercise just to make it up. As someone else pointed out, even if you ate another 1200 calories you still wouldn't gain weight (aside from possible water weight).
And this for emphasis. If you are eating too little you may be prone to binging like this. 1200 isn't appropriate level for a lot of people.1. Quick-added calories should be used sparingly, if at all. It makes it very difficult to track macros and to know how accurate you are.

Is it really true that if I ate another 1200 I wouldn't gain weight?? I find this hard to believe.

The best thing about mornings like this is that you have the whole day to save the day. You can exercise and take all day to digest. If it happens for dinner you are stomped.0

You're only on a 1200 calorie day anyway which is really low, but a huge plate of salad/veggies for lunch and dinner would only amount to about another 300 calories which you could burn off with just an hours walk, so your day isn't ruined yet.0

You appear to be are looking for permission to blow this day off. Go ahead. Eat chips. Eat whatever you want. You have our permission.
Are we done?
Good, now come up with a plan for the rest of the day and get on with it.
You can do this.0
