As much as I would like to believe that my cravings are a physical response and I can "fix" them by choosing these foods, I have to admit that it's more likely psychological and just replacing the food with a completely different one that has some specific nutrient will not help.

It's a process learning how to crave healthier foods, but I have made progress. Bananas are my go-to heavenly food now, whereas before I would always go for cheese.

That's interesting. I don't see crunchy on the list though. I sometimes want something that has more texture as in crunchy rather than chocolate, salty, or sweet.

What do you classify as crunchy?

Part of my problem was that I tried to divert my cravings with some of those healthier alternatives and it didn't do the trick...I finally caved and had the desired food. Unfortunately then my calories included not only the original craving food but everything else! If I can't seem to get past the craving I just have a smaller amount now and that works fine. Interesting list though.

Something that is working really well for me is to finally realize how bad some foods are once added to your diary. Now I make sure what I eat wont ruin my days calories.

Im just going to have to eat and exercise well for the next 2 days as there is a boys night coming up and hopefully I just stick to my whiskey and water.

I'm not vegetarian but my wife is. When I'm cooking for both of us, I find that when I crave meat I can often replace it with fried onions. For me, it seems to tickle the same spot in terms of savory-ness. I suspect it's because my mom usually put onions in her hamburgers, so I link onions with meat; I'm not sure how universal that is.
