Insanity calories

I started insanity on Monday! It's day four for me, and I'm worried that I may be eating too much. I feel kind of bloated this morning- although to be honest this may be because my monthly "gift" is coming. Anyways, I did the whole equation to find out how much I should be eating. I'm 20, 5'7 and weigh 196. I want to lose weight, so I subtracted the 500 from my sum and it came up with about 2400. That seems like a lot to me.....I just to make sure I'm me eating too much or anything!

That's probably relatively accurate. Insanity is hard and you want to make sure you are getting enough to support it. I just finished it not too long ago and I was burning (according to my HRM) about 350-550 depending on how hard I went at it that day or which workout it was.0

A HRM is going to be a good investment. I was eating upwards of 3000 a day on insanity and losing inches (my HRM was giving me burns of between 600 and 1200, depending on the length and intensity of the workout). It seems like a lot of food, but you need to make sure you give your body enough fuel. Insanity is intense.0

Sounds about right to me, I'm on day 11, I'm 39, 5"3 and 137-140lbs and my daily calories are 1710 and I don't eat back my exercise calories as they are included in that calculation. Bloated too and up 3lb for same reason, but it will disappear by next week.0

Sounds pretty close. I', 5'9 and 150. Mine calculated out to 2050 cals. It took a few weeks for my weight to really change (keep in mind I was already decently active) but I don't feel completely exhausted each morning.0

I think I am eating to less. But i am not having issues finsishing the workout other then being out of shape. How do you figure out how many calories you should eat a day?0

You may find you even need more. I'm 5'4", 112-114lbs (approx.--I don't weigh that often), and I'm eating anywhere between 1700-2000+ calories a day, and I'm still losing weight. I've been needing to increase my calories several times. Insanity burns a lot of calories, and you need to refuel to stay healthy. I've been eating all of my exercise calories back most days, and have surpassed them many times...and I'm still losing. So just keep a close eye on how you're feeling, and what's happening with your body, throughout the program.0

Great! Thanks guys! I know the Manuel thing says to recalculate every week so I will definitely keep up on that!0

Hey, I am on week FOUR and have not lost anything. I can feel myself getting stronger, and I am getting flexable like I used to be, but I am hoping month 2 will give way to weight loss. I lost 42 lbs last year on my own eating plan, and running, and I have gained a little over 10 back. Any suggestions? I am only 5" so I am to the point it is hard to lose. I want to lose about 25-30 lb and I am done. That will put be at around 100-105. Any suggestions?0
