Is 45% of calories from protein too high?

I'm starting to use IIFYM. I had to tweak the exact numbers for MFP purposes, so I ended up with 45% from protein, 20% from carbs, and 35% from fat.
Does this sound accurate/reasonable? It just seems like a lot of protein to me. But then, I really know nothing about this macronutrient business!

It's higher than what most people eat but so long as you're getting the nutrients you need it shouldn't be a problem. Might be hard to get all the essential nutrients depending on what you eat but I wouldn't expect you to unexpectedly drop dead.
You may find it hard to fit in fruit and other sugary things with carbs that low. How much that bothers you is your own business.0 -
Give it a try and see how you manage the amounts. You can always move them around if you find you're going over or under.0

no. Protein can be synthesized into other nutrients if you take in excess0

Mine is about 40% protein, sometimes up to 50%. Seems about right to me. As long as you aren't having issues and health is good, go for it.0

Cool... Thanks, everyone!0
