This time for sure

Been over a year when I started, dropped out and must do this. Need support for the smallest of goals I may reach from all of you. Thank you so much and please cheer me on towards reaching my goals. My health is in the balance.

Hi - just noticed this. What do you understand about the process of life?. It seems to me that if we eat the type of diet on offer in the UK today then we are destined to gain weight. So looking back into the wartime years I have noticed that nearly all of our parents were not overweight.

The next thing to look at is that in the war years food was scarce - you had to grow your own vegetables and food was scarce. You just could not buy fruiys out of season - and there were many more british nut trees and wild fruits available.

A good way to start would be to put yourself back into that time. Limit your meat consumption, eat local produce. Do not have any processed foods nor buy drinks with sweeteners in them (these chemicals destroy your metabolic functions and make it impossible for you to distinguish real flavours or sweetness.

Then you must walk each day even if it is for 30 minutes to start with.

Do not starve or binge. Eat only natural things - drink water. Like me this is probably your final showdown and so it has got to work. My legs are painful even walking for short periods, and I like you are starting out on this final journey. Even though I like to think that I know it all - I do not know anything. I look at my parents and grandparents at how and when they died and it makes me feel nervous and a bit more aware of my mortality. Do not give up - make this day your first real day and be meaningful about it - because it is about your quality of life and the precious moments left to you from this day forward

You know what; you can so totally do this! Just remember that only YOU have the power to create change but I and many others on MFP have faith in you. This is within your grasp, reach out and go for it.

I am here if you need me! I know what you are going through!

No. This is far too much for most people starting out. Start with small changes. Make a goal to log your good every day for a week, all of it. Then, try to cut back a bit on one thing you know you overeat. Don't cut it out entirely. Don't cut entire foods or food groups. Next, start moving more. Even ten minutes will help. Then build on that. Small sustainable changes that you can maintain throughout the rest of your life is what you need. Good luck to you.
