I'm eligible to enlist now!

This is absolutely a scale-related victory! For women height 5'5" to enlist in the United States Air Force, the maximum limit is 165 lbs - last November I was at 200 lbs, and today I weighed in at 164! I'm officially able to go talk to a recruiter and begin the process of enlisting to serve and protect this country! School comes first (engineering, fun stuff!) but I'm still totally psyched that this option in life, which I previously thought would be impossible for me to achieve, is open to me.

Wish me luck, guys!

Congrats! Once you get past boot camp, you may be able to do different things other than running for your yearly physical. I know the Navy allowed me to swim. I made outstandings swimming. I can't run to save my life. ( I walk faster than I run.) That helped with the evals =)

    Also thank you.

    Good luck!

I am not sure which to comment on first the weight loss or being able to enlist!

So, first congratulations on your weight loss success and second thank you for wanting to serve and help protect our country.

Absolutely! Wishing you all of the best. Why not complete your degree and then maybe you could go to OCS?

Woo hoo! :D I'm in the process of losing weight to join the Navy or Coast Guard (haven't decided which yet!) I have to get down to 160. With every pound closer to my goal I get more and more excited!

That was actually kind of my plan - I'm going ROTC while I'm finishing school, then active when I graduate >3<

And thank you all for the support! :D I'm excited to get started!
