Paleo Diet

Options
So after starting to get into shape and loosing a bit of weight I decided to challenge myself further by going on a Paleo Diet in addition to the calorie counting. Any tips to a newbie? Sweet awesome recipes that are easy to cook up?

    Hi Silenttech

There are lots of good resources out there. I've just finished whole30 a very strict version of paleo and am going to continue for another 30 days and some of the best recipes I've found we're from the following:

Nom nom paleo - website and app
Élanas pantry - book and blog
Whole9 - website and book - it starts with food
    Well fed - book

    Hope this helps

Lots of options out there on "how to", but it's really a lifestyle so you have to find what works for you.

    Meal planning template - http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf
Slim Palate Paleo Blog (packed with adventures and recipes) - http://slimpalate.com/
Author of Well Fed, her blog - http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com/
Paleo Effect, Do's and Don'ts (recipes as well) - http://www.paleoeffect.com/paleo-quick-guide/
Rubies & Radishes the hows and whys (recipes too) - http://www.rubiesandradishes.com/paleo-basics/
Mark's Daily Apple Primal guide (notice I said Primal, not Paleo there's a difference) - http://www.marksdailyapple.com/what-to-eat-and-what-to-avoid-for-lifelong-health/
    Civilized Caveman (awesome recipes)- http://www.civilizedcaveman.com

Primal = high fat, moderate protein ; Paleo = high protein, moderate fat

Now deciding whether to do dairy or not is up to you, some people do no potatoes, no white rice, also totally up to you. It's about what your body can tolerate. I'll also add autoimmune paleo here if you have any autoimmune disease (PCOD, thyroid disease, RA, etc.)

    Autoimmune Paleo - http://autoimmune-paleo.com/

General questions on stuff (i.e. Am I doing this right?) - Paleohacks.com

    Wanna buy stuff online? paleofoodmall.com

I'll also add I never had to buy any books. I found tons of info online. I have lost more than half the weight I gained with my thyroid disease and I am very happy about that. Paleo also helps with the dry skin, and it's high in nutrients since I eat so many veggies..I'll try to check back here if you have more questions, but you can tweet me @jess429. Also most of the sites listed in this thread, not just my post have facebook counterparts.
