I don't think anyone in this thread even hinted at putting down bodybuilding but way to try to start drama.0 -
I actually think certain types of women are attracted to crossfit. There is a bit of self-selection on it. (My own shape isn't well represented there)
If you do crossfit, will you get a crossfit physique?
I don't know, but you will improve the shape you have (if it is your style of workout.)
I think that is true of any sport, especially at the elite levels.
Very much so. But I also wonder if there is something else at play as well. For example, if when I was in middle school and high school age, I found an effective sports bra, I would have totally considered playing more sports. But back then, they all sucked, and running was not fun as I was busty. I selected myself out of playing even though I would have likely wanted to.
My mom couldn't relate because, let's just say I passed her in bra size by like 5th grade. And the other busty relatives were much much older (i.e. in their 40s doing desk jobs).
It would be awesome if PE teachers and guidance counselors were trained in proper bra fit.0 -
I'm just stating the difference between the functionality of crossfit and bodybuilding.
No drama here.
No need to instigate.0 -
I've been doing crossfit for 3 months now and I love it. I'd prefer not to be bulky.. I'd like to be more toned with definition.. but if I see that happening, I'll figure out what to do then, but for now I don't think that's likely to happen. There are a few gals at my box who look slightly man-ish, and I have to say I'm not too fond of that body style on women. But that's my own opinion. Like everyone else said, to each their own.0

Crossfit is great, I enjoyed it when I was active in my old gym. As for appearance, some crossfit ladies look great. But really bulky women is not my cup of tea. But hey, some people dig it.0

I'm actually going for the bulky woman look, not the bulky man look0 -

Oh hell yes!!! There was no CF gym where I lived past three years, but now that I'm finally moving to a big city, first thing I'm signing up to nearest box.
And these chicks make me seriously question my heterosexuality...0 -

I tried it and really liked it. But right now im locked in my gym contract so I don't want to pay for both. When my contract is up I will most likely switch0

I have been doing boot camp for the past 12 weeks. I will start CF in couple weeks.
I like a tone body on anyone be it male or female. It just looks nice to me.
wish I had one but in reality I probaly never see it. I like to eat to much and I am not willing to take pills to get a tone body.
Some people just need the extra push that crossfit actives can provide for them.
I personnely need some one to push me when it comes to pushing my body to the limits.
If I go to the gym and work out, I do not get the same level of excersize as I do when I am doing boot camp.0 -
if it fit my budget, I would sign up for cross fit tomorrow.0

Strength is always functional.
Crossfit has bastardized the actual meaning of functional fitness.0 -
I just started cross fit. I am anxious to see the effects it has on my body0

Different strokes for different folks. We're not all here for the same reason, nor do we all share a mind when it comes to our tastes and preferences.0

Having said that, I think it's great that it has gotten so many people being active and challenging themselves. I have no idea about the expense, but I think the injury rate makes me shy away from it.0 -

I strongly suspect the poster was just trying to stir the pot. Just a hunch.0 -
Aaaaand back to hot women before this thing gets hijacked into a debate about optimal training programs....

ETA: You can achieve the same results with a lot of different training programs. Common points of most of them, heavy progressive lifting and moderate usually short sessions for cardio..0 -
