Unfortunate Events?

I wasn't sure what to put for the topic of this post, sorry if it is a little vague.
So here's my dilemma. Typically I do 45 minutes of cardio before and after work (or starting Tuesday, school). However, there are times like today where I have to choose between sleep/exercise and I'm never quite sure what to do. By the time I had finished working out last night, after eating my small meal (I didn't want to sleep right away after eating) it was probably 2am. I had to be up by 10am to get ready for work. It didn't help that I found out last minute I had to walk to work (so I couldn't pack a lunch, was forced to eat a fast food salad. (Really small salad, no chicken, just salad, same dressing I use at home)
I guess my question is what should you do in these situations?

Sleep is more important than exercise. Do your best to get at least 7-8hrs, and most people find they sleep better if they don't workout 2hrs before bed. I also avoid eating for 2 hours before bed. If that means you only have time for an am workout, then make the most of it and adjust your cals appropriately. If you exhaust yourself you will end up in a worse situation than time management. Maybe use a little of that time in the evenings to pack your lunch, so you never have to make a sacrifice or settle over food.0

Sounds like you had 8 hours of sleep, more than most people who have a ft job, family responsibilities etc. I guess if you are getting more than 6 or 7 hours and you are feeling well, then keep working out.0
