Hey Everyone,
Quick question I was wondering if outdoor bike riding helps shape your glutes/bum/*kitten* ect? Because I've decided I'm going to bike to my gym everyday instead of driving
Ill still be doing my regular 'leg day' etc just wanting to know if biking will assist
Thanks in advance x

The quadriceps and hamstrings do most of the work when you ride a bicycle....but they are neighbors to the glutes :-)0

You will feel the greatest impact in your glutes, quads and calf muscles.
Head for the hills, cycle in a high gear or cycle standing up to maximise the results from your time on the bike.0 -

I have to say, some of my endurance cyclist friends have the hottest arses I have ever seen. One of them won competitions...0

You'd be better off roller blading to the gym.0

Squats make the most beautiful butts walking.

Haha it's 11kms each way of hills etc, roller blades wouldn't really be suitable lol0 -

If nothing else, it'll amp up your cardio. Do some squats when you get to the gym and you'll be fine.0

I ride my bike to the gym often and it is good for cardio, and you feel like you are loosened up, but it does nothing for shaping the *kitten*.. do some squats, stiff leg deadlifts or lunges, and maybe some squats?0

Wow so everyone has a different opinion haha, ill check back in a month and tell you if it assisted in *kitten* shaping0

well you really need a before and after comparison....0 -
Are squats best for lifting and adding to the butt??? I don't want to waste time doing something that won't work. How many should I do each day???0

Definitely heavy on the legs with weights three times a week. I would like to go harder but my schedule doesn't permit.0

I biked to my classes on a single speed road bike a lot and it definitely did make a difference for me!0

I truly believe that my legs workouts have help me shape a pretty nice booty0

I do a lot of indoor and outdoor cycling with high resistance.....my butt used to look saggy and after 13 weeks of it its starting to lift and i am starting to have some curve to it and of course i burned 5 inches of my backside as well!0

I wouldn't count on cycling to give you a good *kitten*. If you want some tips on getting a great *kitten* check out Brett Contreras's blog or grab one of his ebook workout programs. He's known as the "glute guy" and the leading expert in building glutes.
On top of the exercises suggested don't forget to include hip thrusters and weighted hip bridges in your sessions. You may get some strange looks but they will destroy your glutes in a way that squats don't0
