30DS question for successful shredders!

I want to start this after my anniversary with my husband (2 years on Friday married, 10 total together!) and I saw everyone's AMAZING results... I know I'll be able to do it but my big fear is muscles going back to fat if I move away from it after and go back to my treadmill a bit or doing anything less intense.

How long after 30DS did you keep the results maintained? If anyone stopped exercising altogether what happened?

I'm making exercise a lifestyle change but I still worry.

Muscles don't turn into fat, and fat doesn't turn into muscles. You gain or lose muscle, and gain and lose fat.

If you lost fat doing 30DS, then kept a lifestyle that maintained that fat loss, you'll be fine. Dunno about keeping muscle...I don't think it vanishes that quickly, but I don't know how cardio affects it (they say things like low-intensity cardio, when done in excess, can break down muscle. My science knowledge isn't very exact in that).

However, when I finished 30DS, I stopped exercising for a month and I didn't notice any reduction in the muscle I'd made. But then, I was still eating in a calorie deficit so I didn't put on any more fat.

I'd say you'll be fine! Someone with more science knowledge may be able to give you more detailed advice though!

No science knowledge needed! Least... not much. I'm 1 month in to becoming more fit so I am relearning a lot of misconceptions.

Your post was just what I'm looking for. I've been doing calorie deficit and exercising 5-7x a week. I see/feel results but I want to change up my treadmill with other exercise... mainly to help beat down this bodacious belly I have! Legs/butt have become muscled but my tummy is public enemy #1 to me.

Thank you :D Can't wait til after next weekend! Cute fall clothes here I come!

I have done 30ds twice and ripped in 30, over the course of the last year. Right now I am mostly just running but usually do one day a week of boot camp type excercise. I haven't notice any significant muscle loss over the course of doing different exercise workouts. I actually am surprised that some areas that I don't work on consistantly such as push-ups still continue to improve. I think it is just a matter of staying active and eating healthy.
