Hello
My name is Jane and I am from Manchester in the UK. I have around 7 stone to lose (approx 100lbs), but would be really happy to shed 4 Stones (56lbs). I have been yo-yo dieting fro most of my adult life and am approaching my 44th birthday at the beginning of 2014. I am determined to be a healthier fitter me for my 45th birthday in 2015. i have an 11 month old grandson who i want to be able to run around with.
I don't have any wishes to be stick thin, i just want to feel fitter and healthier. I hope that joining this site will be the best decision i have made this year. Wish me luck! :-)

Good morning Jane- congrats on making the choice to join MFP. I have been logging for almost 150 days! I am human, and I look at this as a lifestyle, not a diet. I drink and eat lots of things I shouldn't, but I'm still losing!
I'm 45. Add me if you like.0 -
Hi Jane! I've sent you a friend request. I'm from Columbus Ohio in the US. I am working on losing about 100lbs. I started in January of this year.
Good luck on your journey, I know you can do it! MFP definitely helps!

Hello Jane, great opening post.
I'm 44 yrs old and started focusing more on my health in May. I started with a goal to lose 68 lbs and have 38 lbs to go! Although I have a number/weight goal, I avoid the scale... stepping on it only once a month! This has all been about eating healthier, being active and feeling better. Strong is the new skinny... I have been measuring most of my success with my improved endurance... and the weight has been coming off as I go. This website and my 'Fitness Bucket List' have been great motivation for me.
I'm sending you a friend request.. and looking forward to celebrating some of our future successes together!
P.S. Anyone reading this and interested in adding me... please feel free to do so!!0 -

Hi Jane, Welcome! MFP has been a great tool for me. I'm 46. I have been using MFP for almost two months. I set my goal at only 10 pounds because I thought that would be nearly impossible. I met my goal and have set another.
I'm even doing a work out video and am on the treadmill 5 days a week. That was not me at all prior to MFP! Once you start to lose the weight, you start to feel better and want to keep improving.
Feel free to add me. Good luck!!0
