I eat usually 30-50g over carbs a day. Could this stop further weight loss? I have already lost 3lbs.
Also I still really struggle to get protein no matter how hard I try since I don't eat any dairy.
Is it possible to get stronger on a deficit?
I want to get stronger for climbing etc but don't know if ill just end up weaker eating at a deficit.
Please help, thanks!

  • It really depends what your metabolic type is and also how long you've been restricting carbs and dieting or trying to lose weight too. I always struggled with weight loss and fatloss on low carb and paleo type diets. I took a metabolic typing test and realized I was more of a carb type so I started playing with macros and the more and more I shifted into higher carb higher fat lower protein the leaner I got. Some of my p.t. clients do really well on virtually no carbs others don't. Finding an ideal fuel mix for your unique body and needs can be tricky but once you do the weight just start coming off like crazy. It's almost scary how lean you can get when you're eating right for your metabolic type. There are tests for free all over the place but the best one I found is in a book called How to Eat Move & Be Healthy by Paul Chek.
