Wow, really? rant

Ever have that spare change that you take to a coin star? I decided to take my daughter with me, cash in our change, and buy my husband some of those snack cakes for his lunches. When ever I do this, whatever change is left I put in the Ronald McDonald kids donation box. So, I'm in line, minding my own business, entertaining my kid, and some guy walks up and says, "Wow, how you could brand yourself with that mark? you know what that is right?" He is referring to my chest tattoo. I have several symbols, and the one he seen was the devil. here is an image.

l.jpg

There is also the symbol for neo paganism, the goat in pagan which is a symbol of fertility and power, the goat in Greek mythology where every time someone when to the underworld, they had to sacrifice a goat for safe passage, thus the term scapegoat was born. I am also a Capricorn.

Normally, I get approached by these people that MUST say how wrong it is, and how I should be ashamed and am going to hell. I am also usually alone and reply with witty come backs. Not today. I try to brush it off and say, "if that's what you see, than that's what you see. have a good day sir."

He continues to say how I need to save myself, he'll pray for me, how lucky my daughter is to NOT know what hell is. "Please tell me she's baptized!"

At this point, the ladies in front of me are as insulted as I am. I don't want to get upset in front of my daughter.

"No, she is not, and it is none of your business in what I practice. If you don't like it, don't look. Don't agree with it, don't follow. You have been incredibly rude to me and I am telling you to get away from me and my daughter."

I almost punched him for this. He placed his hand on my daughter's head. I slapped it away and went off, as did another woman. "Don't you dare touch my daughter! Get away from them you psycho!"

He then said that my daughter will die young because of a mother like me and will be trapped in limbo.

WHAT THE ****?!!!!

After all this, he goes into his lane and the lady in front of me was kind enough to let me go a head of her to get out of that store as fast as I could, and the other lady in front of me, already had her items scanning, offered to pay for my little snack cakes as an apology for that douche bag. I declined but said thank you. I am not going to let someone spend their hard earned money for my snack cakes, especially when I have throw away money.

Psycho comes back and says, screams really, "Don't you help that devil worshiping *kitten*!"

The cashier calls for security and apologizes to me. I pay for my cakes, and in full view of the douche bag, put the change, about five bucks into the donation box.

Normally, people like him, I don't let them get to me. But when you involve my daughter, my 3 year old daughter, gloves come off. I've had a similar thing happen just a few nights ago, (why would you do that to yourself? post) But really? WTF?

I am really not too religious. Believe in what you want. The one religious thing I do firmly believe in is Karma. What goes around comes around. But that, that was just crazy. I don't walk up to people that have crosses or the virgin, or the praying hands and ask why and get offended. Most of them look nice and it's none of my business.

I'm sorry you ran into an a$$hat at the store! I'm not into organized religion and folks like that are the reason why. My son and daughter in law are Wiccan, so *I* understand your tattoo. It was none of his business. It's like the old saying: "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all."

As for him touching your daughter? He would have been taking home a knuckle sandwich along with his other purchases if that had been me. EVERYBODY should know one never touches another persons child. Period.

Yeah, it was incredibly rude and uncalled for.

Sorry you had to go through that.

I don't care either way what you put on your own body, but you've gotta know that kind of thing is gonna bring you some attention. Nevertheless, it's not anybody's business to comment. He should not have touched your child. What a creeper. I'm sorry that happened to you. :flowerforyou:
  • Wow.... I admire your restraint. I would have totally punched the guy repeatedly in the face, if he put his hand anywhere near my kid. Then I would have dropped the snacks, picked up my kid, and ran. Calories, burned. Day, success.

That guy had some serious issues. No one should ever put their hands on someone else's child. It's sad that such a thing even happened to you.

Wow... That is all I can say. I am terribly sorry that you had to deal with that. I would never have the audacity to do that to another human being. I feel that you have to answer for yourself and it is not my place to judge anyone. As far as him touching your child, if that were me, I would probably have assault charges called on me, because he would have been laid out- no question about it. I have to tip my hat to you because you handled it a lot better than I would have. Again I apologize for his ignorance and rudeness. I really hope that you do not have to endure anything else like that.

    WOW. Just.....WOW.

I'm very sorry you had to go through that. I myself am a deeply religious person, and would like to apologize on behalf of the Bible-thumping whack-jobs out there that give the rest of decent Christians a bad name. We're not all like that, and I sincerely hope you don't let this experience stain your opinions of religious people in the future.

I'm a very tolerant person and hate confrontation, but I'm also a mother. I hope I never have to deal with that and my condolences to you and your child. It's none of his business what you practice or what tat you wear. Keep on keeping on and screw those that are ignorant.

That's what almost every encounter w/ religion has been like for me.. but that's not even the point of this. I'd have kicked him in the groin so fast he didn't know what hit him.

Sorry that happened, people who engross themselves in such a 'loving' religion really have no room to spew crap like that or put their hands on anyone. To that point, nobody does.

Totally agree with this , As a christian nothing drives me crazier than false christians that try to throw their own messed up beliefs on everyone else. Like those nut jobs that show up at military funerals saying its punishment from God. Sorry you had to deal with that idiot, if i had been there i would have been the first person to twist his arm and put him down after he touched your daughter. YOu handled it better than i would have lol :)

like I said, a similar occurrence. I was at the gym, and some lady jabbed me saying how horrible my hair and tattoos were. She couldn't see my chest tattoo. don't see how me being who I am is bad. I don't go around people, insulting them, putting my hands on their children. If I see something I don't understand or like, I keep my mouth shut. It's none of my business what others believe or do to their bodies.

He sounds like a disturbed person. I would have ignored him and called the police if he didn't leave. OTH, you did get the tattoos you got located where they're located with the idea that you'd be displaying them for the general public, right? So I guess there's somewhat of a chance they'd attract the attention of weirdos.

I give the guy credit for stating his opinion. I dont agree with him continuing down the path after you told him to move on. I sure as hell dont agree with him touching your child. AND I SURE AS HELL dont agree with the people on this thread that are overtly blaming you for what happened. WTF is wrong with you people? This lady has a tattoo that is visible that some may not like. SO THE **** WHAT? THAT DOESNT GIVE HIM THE RIGHT TO HARASS HER AND TO TOUCH HER CHILD.

I swear I am about done with this site. Some people here are ****ed up and it has gotten old.

I am glad you were able to remove yourself and your daughter from the situation.
