Hi there! I'm 18 years old and I'm in my fourth week of insanity training. I would say that my eating habits are pretty good - i don't eat junk food, too much sweets and so on.. I don't really consume that many calories (about 1500-1700 every day), but despite my eating habits and every day insanity workout, I still don't see any results, and i'm going crazy because of that! i think i have even gained some inches around my waist! I don't understand. :(:( the last time I did insanity, which was about six months ago, i saw results after my second week, and didn't even start the fourth week! can somebody please tell me what i'm doing wrong, because It's really taking away all of my motivation... thanks so much!

I haven't seen any weight results with my 5th week of INSANITY, but one thing that you are doing wrong (I was too) is not taking in enough calories. The first month of workouts can burn up to 500 calories and the second they say up to 1000 a workout. These workouts are so intense your body needs all the calories it can consume. The nutritional guide that came with your INSANITY has a calorie guide in it. Most INSANITY users should consume no less then 1700 calories. The less calories consumed, the less weight you lose. Sounds crazy I know, but your body is going to hold onto every ounce of weight it can if it isn't being fed enough. Second, the body holds water weight like crazy when an intense workout program in started. It will take roughly 5 to 6 weeks for the muscles to acclimate to the program. The last 30 days is when most people see the results.
If this is your second time doing INSANITY it may take longer to see results as well...your body has already done this once. Keep it up and don't lose hope. In the end you may still weigh the same, but your overall health will be better. You will be stronger, faster and with better cardio and core strength.

That's a generic number for calories burned. I was only burning 300-350 the first month and 500-600 the second month. I wouldn't increase calories based on the fact that you "can" burn up to that many calories - most people don't, just depends on the person and their stats.

I was disappointed with my Insanity results, After the workouts i was dripping with sweat and extremely exhausted. I got a HRM and learned that I was only burning 300-350 per session.

Now that is not a bad burn considering the real workout (in the first month) is less than 20 minutes - I spent 15-20 minutes in zone. But for me - I felt exhausted and very sore - which affected how hard I worked out the next day.

I did Insanity for two weeks and have decided to take a break. Instead I have been doing Boot Camp style gym classes and Jillian Micheals 3-4 times a week. These classes are generally an hour and I burn 450-500 calories. So these classes are not as intense as Insanity but I get a great burn and don't have the exhaustion and soreness that I did with Insanity. Two weeks on Insanity - no loss. First week off insanity - 1.5 lb loss. Nothing against insanity and I might try it again when I am closer to my goal and looking more for toning and not weight loss.

it's likely your diet. I'm on my second round of Insanity and saw the best results when I was following the diet closely. That doesn't mean only the recipes in the book, but it does mean 40/40/20 macros, mostly clean, and 5 times a day. When I did the calculation in the book, it told me to eat 1800 calories - I am small, however, and dropped it to 1500.

Go from having a "pretty good" diet to being a real stickler, tracking everything and hitting your macros. It made a huge difference for me.
  • If your bowels aren't functioning to their optimum, which can commonly be caused by an imbalance of good bacteria in the gut, look up glyphosate or "round up" for more info, can cause the body to dilute toxins that can't be excreted into fat cells. Effects naturally very from person to person based on toxicity of diet i.e. GM's and heavy metals and over all health of the gut. A friend of mine had a good belly that wouldn't shift despite playing rugby three times a week and being generally active. He did a liver gall bladder detox using coffee enema's and kombucha which is an easy to make fermented tea probiotic and the very quickly the fat flew of him! requires a little research but hope it can be of useful to you. We are a chemistry set that needs to be in balance for the best results and performance!:glasses:

    True, but terrible advice.

Up your calorie goals by a few hundred and see if that doesn't help. Don't freak out, make some adjustments, and give yourself some time to see what works for you. Nothing happens in the short term, just make a change in your calories, evaluate, and continue.
