can squats burn so many cals?? (polar ft4)

I just got my first hrm and I'm super excited! It's polar ft4.
I was doing squats for 10 min and it said I've burned 90 cals :noway:
Almost like jogging!
Btw I'm 5'7 and 190 lbs
He said my average heart rate was 143 and max HR was 162
Can it be?

No. Don't bother using your HRM for any kind of strength training. It will grossly overestimate. (Vs cardio, where it only just overestimates...)
Though jump squats will burn about half that much...0 -
