When does period weight go away? (TMI warning)

So last week I was plateauing around 130ish and getting really frustrated, and then I had an accidental mini-binge on bread Thursday night. Friday, I ate very little though to balance it out. Then late on Friday night, I got my period. Today's Wednesday, and my flow was relatively light yesterday - barely anything, so I thought I'd weigh myself again, but my weight still says 129 this morning and it's day 5 of my period! I might have a little residual flow today, but I thought for the most part that my weight would have dropped more by now since I kept up with my diet/exercise during my period. But it's the morning of day 5 and my weight's still at 129 Could this possibly be water retention? I'm REALLY discouraged right now and it's making my anxiety so much worse Is it normal to still be retaining water after your period? I feel so hopeless and I'm afraid it's not water weight after all
Any feedback? When do you lose your period weight?

So you lost a pound and it's frustrating you? I'm confused.0

During mine i gain about 10 lbs, and I am back to normal a few days after it ends.. I try to overdose on water, because after all weight gain during a period is primarily due to water.0

Sorry, I think my original post was confusing. I was staying around 130 with the increased pre-period weight gain/water retention/bloating. Thank you for the feedback!0

Drink more water its normal to gain during your period and crave things like bread. Don't sweat it darling, let the anxiety go 129lbs is not at all a bad weight!0

OP: Are you sure you are 35 years old?0

what's your height and goal weight? Are you sure it's a reasonable goal weight for your height and frame size?
sometimes, when someone's already at a healthy weight for their height, but they're not seeing the changes in their body, the solution isn't to just lose more weight. The solution is to lower their body fat percentage, and for some that may involve ending up heavier, but with less fat. Getting lighter and lighter does not improve your body fat percentage, what tends to happen after a certain point is that the body fat percentage stays the same, you just get lighter, but you look the same, i.e. flabby bits in the same places etc. This is because further weight loss results in loss of bone density and lean muscle, not just fat. Once your weight is in or close to the healthy range for your height, it's really important to focus much less on weight, and much more on body composition and body fat percentage.
read this for an example of how one woman got heavier, but ended up looking a lot better, and being a lot fitter, stronger and healthier: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/0 -
I think your period also made you mega obsessive....0

I'm 5'6", and my goal weight is 115-120. I just still have some flab on my thighs/sides/stomach that I'm looking to remove, but I do a lot of bodyweight/toning exercises as well as upper body weight lifting (my lower half puts on weight fairly easily), so I'm already decently toned and looking to shed the excess fat. I have noticeable muscles, especially in my legs, and I really don't want any more because that's not really the look I'm going for I guess.
Yeah sorry, I know my period's making me obsessive. I am also attending treatment for an anxiety disorder, so I'm sure this has contributed. I'm sorry my posts sound paranoid.0 -
115-120 is not a reasonable goal for someone who is 5' 6", really. Around 130 is the right target. Assuming by "tone" you mean "definition" and not the actual meaning of the word "tone", which is "stiffness of muscle tissue when it is not tensed", the only way to be "toned" is to not have excess fat, so you're talking past yourself.
I'm not sure what look you're going for exactly. You want to shed excess fat but not have more noticeable muscles? Do you mean you want to have skin and bones and not much muscle? Because I think that's pretty much the only way not to have excess fat and not have defined, noticeable muscles. Your body's going to fight you every step of the way to get there, because that's not something that leads to optimal body functioning.0 -

Disagree. I am 5'6" and currently at 130. I have been at 120 and it was the perfect weight for me. At 130, my body fat is too high. I have a decent amount of muscle on me and would like to actually be able to see it.
I agree with the rest of your statement.0
